Lit by Denise O'Reilly, Washington DC, USA & Roscrea, Ireland 25th January 2021
It has been many years since I managed to be home in Roscrea when Teresa was home from England visiting with our family. I always remember how Theresa's visits lit up your house with humor and cheer and when I would call home from the USA in years gone by, Mum would tell me about her visit, the laughs and the latest news. I'm blessed to see Betty whenever I'm home and was tracking how Teresa was doing and keeping everyone, especially Teresa in my prayers. It was with sadness that I learned while home for Christmas about her passing and due to Covid19, we were not able to see Betty in person to sympathise but we did check on her, let her know we're all here for her always. Sympathies to the entire family and know you are in my prayers here in the USA. A prayer/poem that I always share when we lose someone we love says it all for me. Be at peace now Teresa and know your footprints on this earth will not fade.
God’s Garden
God looked around His garden,
And found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you,
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden is so beautiful
He only takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew that you had been in pain
He knew that you would never
Get well on this earth again.
He saw the roads were getting tough
And the hills were hard to climb,
So he closed your precious eyelids
And whispered “Peace is thine”
It breaks our hearts to lose you,
But you have not gone alone,
For a part of us is with you,
The day God called you home.
